Bonus types that suit larger stakes
| Type | How it works | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| High roller deposit match | A match on a larger first deposit, often from €500 | Wagering, max bet, time limit |
| Cashback | A share of net losses returned weekly or monthly | Whether it is cash or bonus money |
| Reload bonus | A match on later deposits | Same terms as any match |
| VIP programme | Tiered rewards for turnover | How tiers are reached and kept |
Work out what a bonus costs
Clearing a bonus costs roughly bonus × wagering × house edge. A €1,000 match at 35x on slots with a 4% edge means €35,000 in bets and an expected cost of about €1,400, so the bonus is worth less than nothing on average. The same €1,000 at 10x costs about €400 to clear.
Cashback of 10% paid in cash has no such cost. On €2,000 of net losses it returns €200 you can withdraw at once.
Terms that hit high rollers hardest
- Maximum bet with a bonus active: often €5. Bigger bets can void the bonus and its winnings.
- Withdrawal caps: weekly or monthly limits can stretch a large win over months. Read them before you deposit big.
- Game weighting: table games and live casino often count little or nothing towards wagering.
- Source of funds: larger deposits trigger checks on where the money comes from. Have bank statements ready.
Play within limits
Larger stakes make limits more important, not less. Set a deposit limit in the account and see our tips on gambling control before you take a high roller offer.
