Six Plus Hold'em (short deck)
The 2s to 5s are removed, leaving 36 cards. Hands become stronger and draws more likely, so hand rankings change: a flush beats a full house, and under many rule sets three of a kind beats a straight. Check the table's rules before your first hand.
- Value high cards and connected cards more than in standard Hold'em.
- Expect bigger pots and more all-ins.
- A-6-7-8-9 counts as a straight in most versions.
Fast-fold poker
Fold and you are moved to a new table with a new hand at once. You see far more hands per hour, which suits patient, tight play, but losses can mount quickly. Set a time and loss limit.
Casino poker against the dealer
Most casinos on our list offer poker as a table game: Casino Hold'em, Three Card Poker and Caribbean Stud. You play against the house, so there is a built-in edge, and side bets raise it further. Follow a simple strategy chart and skip the side bets.
